Secteur Est – L’Echonova

Behind this creature, lurks in packs a small occulte group that challenges the dark cult with blasts of postmodern punk Ghost. A dark synthetic symphony, that reminds us of werewolves howling as in a John Carpenter horror film. Vocals, guitar, bass, drums and an analog keyboard used to create this music that takes its influences from the past as from the deviances of today’s drab-world.

After leaving the hip-hop group Micronologie with whom he released an album and played many concerts, during which he officiated as MC, Olivier Saf, alias Safirius, was thirsty for new horizons, in every sense of the word. It is indeed in Istanbul in Turkey that he imagined this project, a foursome that draws on the energy of rock and blues, enhanced by electro music, to accompany strong powerful verses. With colorful lyrics and catchy tunes, as can be heard on the EP "Proses Fantômes" cleverly arranged by his friend AuDen (Transmusicals 2010) – Darjeeling Speech make’s you feel good !

Since the summer of 2009, French band Manceau have been composing colorful and elegant pop music shaped with both simplicity and melodic ambition. But despite being influenced by Britpop icons, their melodies have their own peculiarity. Their 2010’s "On a Mellow Day" EP, a small collection of sophisticated and happy folk songs was a clear example of this and so was "Life Traffic Jam", their subtle synthpop debut album produced by Xavier Boyer and Pedro Resende (Tahiti 80) and released on their own imprint (Monophonics) two years later. In common with the authors of Puzzle is the search for the perfect arrangement in composing intelligent demanding music able to touch everyone.
Since then, their music shaped with both erudition and irreverence has echoed and been acclaimed overseas, especially in Asia. "Life Traffic Jam" first released in Japan on JVC Victor (5000 copies sold) where the foursome toured in May of 2012. Then, the band licensed the album for release in China,Taiwan and Korea. These deals gave them the opportunity to play and promote the LP in China and Korea in 2013 and 2014.
Manceau’s currently putting the finishing touches to their second album. After a whole year spent at their own recording studio, they’ve collaborated with Stephane "Alf" Briat (Air’s Moon Safari, Sebastien Tellier, Cassius) who’s mixed the new songs with a "French touch’s" savoir-faire that fits perfectly with their bright and pastel melodies.
